About StarFall Creative Collective
StarFall Creative Collective is a volunteer-led group with the goal of connecting the creative community, sharing artistic resources, and utilizing mutual aid practices. The collective prioritizes inclusion, accessibility, and equity, fostering a vibrant and supportive environment for artists around Northeast Ohio. Located in Akron, through their events, resource sharing, and community-driven initiatives, StarFall empowers artists and strengthens social connections.

Started in 2023, StarFall Creative Collective began as a grassroots effort to address the growing need for connection and support among artists in Northeast Ohio. Born from a small group of passionate creatives, we sought to bridge the gap between isolated artists and the resources they needed to thrive, including social groups. StarFall is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to promoting mutual aid, resource sharing, and artistic empowerment. Through workshops, community events, and partnerships with local organizations, we’ve built a network that uplifts artists and amplifies their voices. Our journey continues as we expand our reach, strengthen our connections, and work together to ignite the creative spirit across Akron to beyond in Northeast Ohio.
Our mission is to connect artists with resources, opportunities, and each other—whether through events, skill-sharing, or resource swaps. We prioritize equity, accessibility, and inclusion in everything we do, working to break down barriers and build networks of support.

Meet the Team
StarFall Creative Collective was founded by Ashleigh Byrer and Nova Stewart in 2023. This group and website operates on limited resources and volunteered time. We are grateful for our community partnerships that have helped us bring our ideas to light!
We are neurodivergent & queer-run. We value creating safe spaces for all.
Ashleigh Byrer
Ashleigh is a local fiber arts enthusiast who values art and community. Their college background is in digital media and event planning. Along with working full time and co-running StarFall, they are also working on launching their handmade business, The April Foolery, which will center queer and neurodivergent joy.
Nova Stewart
Nova has a BFA in Illustration From the Cleveland Institute of Art with an additional concentration in Art Education. See more of their artwork through Star Catcher Studio. They're currently pursuing their Master of Art Administration/Management from The University of Akron. They are currently researching the local arts ecosystem and community for their thesis.
